Hollister Co, Shepherds Bush, London

The clothes are really nice, don’t get me wrong, and it’s pretty affordable (compared to A&F anyway) but it’s definitely not perfect!
a) It’s wayyyyyy too dark (to the extent it’s just annoying.) It makes you wonder why they keep it dark, is it to hide the fact the clothes and shop assistants aren’t quite as 'beautiful’ as they seem?
b) It’s wayyyyy too smelly (they spray it with their fragrances and they smell nice…but there’s just SO much, it’s actually ridiculous and gave me a headache!)
c) I just find the whole thing quite fake and irritating. Hollister and A&F both seem to have really narrow-minded opinions of beauty. Judging by the people who work there, in my opinion, they seem to be trying to say anyone who doesn’t have blonde hair and blue eyes isn’t beautiful. I’d like to see more ethnic minorities working in there.
d) I don’t like the way they try and sell their clothes. Its like they are trying to say you aren’t just buying a pair of shorts or a bikini, you’re buying into the whole glamourous 'Malibu’ lifestyle - when you’re not. You’re still in a rundown London suburb. Haha.
Well, that’s my stab at the shop - and mainly because the other reviews are so positive, I just wanted to shed a bit of light on perhaps the problems with such a great store!

Hollister is my favourite store. This branch is located in Brent Cross shopping centre, and there is also one in Westfield. I love the theming of the store. The prices are a bit more than you would pay in the US, but the wide range of products definitely makes this store worth a visit.

Hollister is one of the most recent openings within Brent cross. The store is quite dark and similar to its sister company - Abercrombie & Fitch. On my visit the store had an almost beach hut vibe to it, and was very busy. I asked one of the girls working there if they had anymore tops in another size but she said she had no idea how to check! Obviously a few teething problems, but I hope when I return soon it will all be fixed. The changing rooms are nice and bright and it smells divine in there! Although compared to their outlets in America, they charge twice as much for the same items!

I love the clothing from this California store. Sister to Abercrombie & Fitch. Located in the brand new Westfield shopping centre in Shepherds bush.
Gave it a bad review since it was the only store that was not open on time and it had no notice or further information. I tried to contact them by email and got a useless reply.
