I managed to get a relatively cheap 2-night B&B stay at this hotel so decided to give it a try.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location. In general the building seems well maintained, but some of the public areas were being patched and re-painted whilst I was there. My room was spacious and comfortable with free DVD movie rental which is a nice touch.

The cooked breakfast was better than most, although 3 staff members were chatting loudly by the entrance which is unacceptable at the level they are trying to pitch, although the rest of the time they were generally very good.

Bar snacks are good, but the food and drinks are relatively expensive: expect dinner in the restaurant to cost £30+ per head.

Overall though I'd return: especially if I wanted a quiet nice weekend away with a friend. It is a lovely quiet, calm rural location.

This is the most peaceful place I have ever stayed my (new) husband and I stumbled across it as a bargain last minute get away about 3 years ago and returned again and again whenever we had a special occasion or just wanted a long weekend to relax, any excuse really.

The restaurant is fantastic, the food is out of this world, and where better to go after dinner but to the book lined bar / lounge to relax even more.

The rooms are all beautiful and very very spacious with lovely furnishings and all have either a balcony or french doors opening to a patio which I love! I like to be able to open the windows in hotels.

We loved the place so much from our numerous stays it was the first place we thought of when planning our wedding. We wanted to share this treasure with all our friends and family.

The staff arranged the perfect day that we wanted without us ever having to go to visit them it was all arranged via email/telephone which was a great help at a very busy time and we had the exact menu that we wanted with all our guests able to choose what they wanted to eat.

We stayed in the honeyroom suite which words cannot expect how it took my breath away when I walked into it. Sufice to say that room has 2 balcony’s with stunning views of the beautiful Welsh countryside. If you want peace quiet and beauty with good food and friendly unobtrusive staff this is the place to go.. We love it and will be back
