Although small (booking is essential, especially at the weekend), the restaurant is big on atmosphere, with husband and wife owners Ambrose and Linda offering superb hospitality to both new and regular customers.
They seem to know every diner by name, many would prefer to be greeted by news that this tiny, beach hut-like eatery was expanding: tables are that hard to come by. The menu requires no such enlargement, especially since it’s hard to look too far past the neat little pot sticker dumplings, lip-smacking satay, sizzling scallops in ginger & spring onions or a traditional Malaysian sambal dish. It’s all lovingly prepared by Ambrose’s dad, who you’ll see hard at work if you go to the loo – you have to go through the kitchen to get there. Whether you’re eating in or out, no starter or main tops £7.

You’ve got to go here, but book ahead though. It’s tiny and when the owners want to go away, they just close it up. But they’re incredibly friendly. By the time you leave, you’ll be life long friends. It’s fantastic Malaysian food, and very friendly prices too.
