Tesco Stores

So there I was at checkout fifteen with a full weeks shopping on the belt waiting for it to be scanned by the very pre occupied checkout operator.

The girl with the luminous red hair was deep in conversation with the customer she was serving and also the operator on the checkout opposite.

I didnt like to break up the "love in" so I started to pack the first few items in the ONE bag the staff member had provided.

The deep conversation continued and now took in the staff on the till further along and being typically British I did not like to interupt. Even when the Flame haired checkout girl completely ignored the fact that I had no more bags left.

This is where I made my fatal mistake.

I reached across and took a bag from the hook at the rear of the till and continued to pack.

The flame haired ones head spun around in mid conversation about the latest "Jordan hairdo" or some such tripe and said....and I quote.

"Where did you get that bag from" ?

"From that hook" was my surprised reply.

And the highly trained staff retorted.....

"Don't you dare do that again. If you want bags, you ask for them, you dont just take them." !!!

"And if I dont ask for them ? " I asked.

"Well if you dont ask then I will take it that you have your own and you wont get any of mine......by the way do you want any school vouchers ?"

I loaded the trolley without any more bags and left the shopping where it was with the checkout operator shouting after me .."I dont make the rules, it might be different if I did"

I complained to the stores duty manager who seemed very out of her depth.

A really embarrasing experience brought about due to the store employing sub standard staff.

I now shop at the Tesco store in Formby...a better class of people there.

Tesco Old Swan is one of the larger stores in Liverpool and the stock level is usually good, this includes household items such as T.V’s. Staff are usually friendly and helpful and prices reasonable.
The carpark can get busy usually only at the weekend and occasionally it can take some time to exit due to the traffic lights at the top of the exit road.

Tesco’s Old Swan is my nearest store. It is big and is being improved as I speak. There will be a Pharmacy and lots more. You can change money there, as there is a money exchange counter. There are clothes and make up, and the shop is very large, and has a lot to offer. It has a very wide range of food and drink. There are many self service counters, and these can be handy if you are in a rush. However, if there isn’t many staff around, it can be a pain because sometimes, the counters occur problems.

This Tesco is used by myself and my family on a regular basis and we really rate it. It’s big, has a cafe which serves a big variety of food for reasonable prices, there are toilet and baby changing facilities, a well stocked clothing department, toys, electricals and most recently a pharmacy has been added aswell, which has come in very handy. The regular supermarket side of things is well stocked and there is a huge variety of items you can buy. There are usually some good offers on aswell. There is a new self checkout too which my kids love to help me use and the staff are on hand to help. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a large carpark, with disabled and parent and child parking spaces.

A relatively new Tesco built in the early 00’s. It is very large but now competes with another larger Tesco in Allerton. There is not a Garage with this Tesco although there is lots of car parking space.

This Tesco is well known for having a great clothes department. There are often hundreds of different items in stock. It also has a good electronics department with many different TV’s on show.

The service is second to none and there are many different counters. I have never had to wait very long to be served.
