A very short walk from U S Barmbek. Can be reached by S-Bahn or U2 or U3. If you live in Hamburg then it’s a must to go there. Yes it’s on the pricey side, but Hamburg Winter’s and bad weather make it the place to go to get winter jackets.

Of course you can grab all the standard outdoor stuff as well. They have a massive collection and if you don’t see it then take a look in the catalogue. It will make you mind boggle!

The staff there are incredibly helpful and well-informed. I have even seen them help English people too, and to a high standard. And also there are some good deals sometimes.

Insider tip: Grab the Globetrotter Shop card. Then you get points and cash back every quarter I believe. Plus special deals for card holders!! And they are good special deals not those silly pseudo deals.

Superb outdoor shop in Barmbek, just at the end of the U3. Actually - this is the best all round outdoor pursuits place I’ve ever been too, bar none. They have a really nice building, very light and airy inside, big open staircase, and huge display areas for the million rucksacks, tents, hammocks, solar powered GPS units, huge knifes, etc etc. Very impressive range of stuff, with knowledgeable staff there to explain it all to you.

I bought a small crumpler bag ideal for laptop + DSLR, and it’s been great!
