great little place (emphasis on ‘little’). i lived in coventry for 3 years and it is really the only thing i miss about the place. good range of beers, good food (the ham and cheese panini is excellent). not cheap per se but if you want cheap go to the wetherspoons opposite. good luck with the clientele in there though. being a bit pricier is the way to weed out the chavs.

Bah!, well we wanted to try this place out as it looked a cool place to go but they wouldn't let us stay there as we had our baby with us. we only wanted a couple of soft drinks to sit outside and she needed a feed. Its 3:30 in the afternoon and was almost completely empty but no, some jobs worth insisted that there were no baby facilities so we couldn't stay! so beware if you have baby later in life you will be barred from ever taking them there. I can understand there being a policy later in the evening but come on guys use some common sense. Your place is a just a glorified cafe bar, so don't try being someone your not. eg Browns mk 2. Also noticed they do that completely over the top challenge 25 scheme which kind of contradicts their young and trendy policy. They must have to ID everyone of their target customers. Pathetic!

stop giving the place bad press just because its not a family pub.Their insurance doesnt cover babies and they don’t want them in there so they don’t let them in. That’s not them trying to be something they’re not.
It is a cool place so i suggest you go down without your baba and with some photo ID. You have made this judgement and given them a bad review without even going in there. If you want to feed your baby, go to wetherspoons.
One of Coventry's few little gems.
A cafe bar located in one of Coventry's three spires. Extremely small inside - approximately 4 tables! They still manage to squeeze in a big screen tv, which can ruin the vibe I think sometimes.
They have a good range of snacks such as panini's which are reasonably priced and very tasty.
They have a vast selection of drinks and specialty beers for such a small place. The yummiest hot chocolate with marshmallows in.
There is a lot of space outside and they have gigantic patio heaters. You have to switch seats a lot on a night out to avoid a tan on one side only. Bit like a giant kebab really...But keeps it lovely and toasty.

sounds like my sort of place - any chance you can recommend any other bars in Cov - visiting for the weekend in May. I'll definitely be trying this one. thanks, linda@clfpack.co.uk
This is where I take visitors who bitch about Coventry city centre. In fact, this is where I take myself to stop me bitching about Coventry city centre. As far as I’m concerned it’s a total blip on the radar of chain pubs and chav-action that my dear home town is famed for.
Inspire is small and relaxed. The indoor bit is actually tiny - no bother during the summer as the outdoor area is massive; during the winter it’s cosy (but everyone’s a smoker so goes outside anyway). The beer and spirit ranges are fantastic - awesome Belgian and German beers abound, as well as some great dark rums. The food is good too - fairly standard lunch fare (paninis, salads, whatnot… though they’ve just started making their own soups).
The name hints at the location - yes, it’s in a spire, one of Coventry’s Three, and lots of the furniture inside is reclaimed from the old church. Apart from the bar, I guess…

This place is really quite cool. It is different and is a good place to go. During the day it is very select and serves a simple range of really nice food. The food is all a little different and unique.
The prices are not cheap but it is not really expensive either.
They only sell bottled beer and most of it is foreign beers, but this means there is a huge choice and you can have somehting different each time you go.
There is a courtyard areas outside with seating which is great in the summer as this place is really small and you are lucky to get a seat otherwise.
At the weekends they have DJ’s playing funky music.

The coolest bar in Coventry and the only place worth going if you want a decent night out without the hassle of a club. Great music with some excellent dj’s, friendly staff and an excellent range of bottled beers in beautiful surroundings.

Great spot for a night out, this converted spire has tonnes of atmosphere and character although it is very small this definitely adds to the feels of the place. Great crowd fill the bar most weekends. Loads of imported beers to taste and also serve good food at lunchtime, mainly baguettes and paninis etc. Overall a lovely bar, definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful surroundings here for a peaceful beer. Sometimes put on live music, but that may have stopped now. A very wide range of unusual beers, such as cherry or rasberry beer. The door staff (when they’re on) can be a bit over sensitive about ID, but in the long run this means you won’t get any trouble here. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little pub, not cheap but with great range of beers etc.
In a spire a previously mentioned, great and clever name!!
Worth going to as its a great little place. At the bottom of hertford street in town and to the left, past the water fountains. It has some nice outdoor seating/standing areas too. Really nice to be at in the summer evenings when its warm. They have nice lighting too which makes it feel really pleasant.

Lovely little cafe/bar which is actually in a spire, hence the name, so the surroundings are beautiful. The pub has a wide range of imported beers, but they’re not cheap. However you don’t mind the price too much for the quality of beer and you won’t get any hassle in here.
