5 reviews of La Piazza in English
Excellent food, both traditional and modern takes on Italian cuisine. The staff are all friendly and presumably well paid or well sedated, since they always seem happy to serve you. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because of one member of staff; we paid by card, and had every intention of leaving a tip either via the card machine or in cash if they couldn’t, but the membe rof staff walked off in a huff promptly after we paid. If you know who you are, you should have more patience as both me and my wife belive in paying for good service, and until that point were most impressed.
In my opinion still one of the best restaurants in Braintree. They are located in a lovely building and the interior of the restaurant oozes character. The bar at the entrance is a bit on the small side, especially if you are early and have to wait for your table or want to meet with friends before a dinner.
The menu offers a great selection of Italian dishes. Whatever we’ve tried we were never disappointed so far. The prices are average and they offer a very reasonable lunch time special.
The service can be a bit patchy which is the only letdown. We’ve had mixed up orders, forgotten drinks and the like which shouldn’t happen in a place like this.
This is a very good restaurant - you have to book well ahead if you are thinking of a Christmas meal - normally not too difficult to get in during the week - excellent food always nicely presented and tasty - not the cheapest place to eat but always worth a return visit!
