It’s a nice park, but don’t compare with European style park’s. It’s not that quite. Lot’s of jogger’s fighting against the round times. But overall, it’s a park and not downtown. So you can relax here.

Nice park next to the famous Barton Springs. There are several hiking trails around the park and the nearby river.

Can we not get Qype to change this entry? It’s ZILKER PARK, people!
Located right in the middle of Austin, it’s many acres of playground, sports fields, green space and a natural swimming hole (Barton Springs Pool - also iconic, GO THERE NOW). Free to enter, but you usually need to pay for parking. Bring a picnic and plan to spend all day exploring all of Zilker Park - definitely leave time for the botanical gardens which are beautiful and excellently maintained (and free!).
