The Leighinmohr

i had my wedding reception here and have nothing but praise for this hotel. from the staff to the food and rooms everything was totally first class. Really excellent company to deal with. They have lots of rooms at very reasonable rates and also offer reasonable food. The food was possibly the best ive ever had in a hotel. The hotel is located just outside the town centre making it easy to access but nice and quiet.

Always had good food here. Been a couple of times with work at Christmas and the food was excellent. And been for a meal with a much smaller party and food always good. Staff very attentive and professional. Little lacking in atmosphere I found though especially in the restaurant! Place itself though is lovely.

Recently attended a wedding reception held in Leighinmohr. The food was awful which I was very surprised about as the food served in the restaurant is beautiful. However, this hotel cannot cater for large numbers.

Starting from the beginning. The soup was the best part - very nice, however the service was slow on this part. Next up was the main course of turkey and ham. Both tasted the same. I could not tell the difference between the two. The vegetables were so hard and were like rubber. If you’d have threw them at a wall they would have bounced back. The potatoes were ok but I would be afraid they might have been made from SMASH!!

We then had dessert which really topped off the meal. It was a trio of desserts consisting of a mini cheesecake, lemon meringue pie and some other mini dessert, can’t remember what it was. The cheesecake was the only edible thing on the plate however. The meringue pie was rotten. Say no more!!

Therefore please be advised not to attend this hotel for a function but do attend for the normal restaurant food.
