Aubrey Arms

Three of us had an evening meal here in June 2011 on a quiet Wednesday. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. Staff were friendly and efficient, the menu choice was good, the food was on the whole fine (although the vegetables were lacking in flavour) and you could enjoy an easy conversation with those at your table without having to shout (this is now virtually impossible in most restaurants in Cardiff Bay - do designers create new restaurants deliberately with terrible acoustics).

I would certainly be tempted back, although I suspect on many days it would be a lot busier (and thus maybe noisier).

I have been here several times and it is always a nice place to eat. Alot of the menu uses local welsh ingredients which i think is a nice touch and the food is always lovely and fresh and seems very homemade which is great.

The service is always good and friendly

Outside the pub always looks very well kept and pretty, with flowers outside, it just makes it a bit more inviting than some places

Just been for a meal at the Aubrey arms, I ordered the chicken & ham pie and when it came the pastry was rock hard. I complained and was asked if I would like another one, but I didn't have time to wait for another meal. don't think we'll be eating here again.

have never been to a pub or restaurant where the manager came out after six of our nine meals had arrived to inform us that the Lamb was off so 3 of our guests went without food the manageress could only muster a sorry mistakes happen without any offer to substitute for another meal on the menu , This turned a pleasant Sunday gathering into total embarrassment for our 3 guests,yes mistakes do happen but as anyone in business will tell you it is how you deal with mistakes that matters word of mouth is priceless advertising and i will ensure i recommend people to go elsewhere.

Great place and easy to find right beside the A48. A lovely quiet and spacious lay out, with comfortable chairs, good quality cutlery, everything spotlessly clean. Superb menu and delicious meals, all beautifully presented. Lots of vegetarian choices too and great value, with plenty to eat for your money! Lovely coffees which come with those little Rombout biscuits. The best thing (which I discovered last night) was the truly excellent and friendly service, not so often found elsewhere these days. Will definitely be back for more soon!

Fantastic place to go to eat, on the A48 at Bonvilston.
Have been coming here for a few years and the food is always spot on as is the service.
Recently went here for Sunday lunch in a party of six adults and two little ones. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful to us. nothing was too much trouble
Sunday lunch here is second to none.

The food in this place is fantanstic it has a really friendly atmosphere. It is very clean and a nice, airy and well kept Pub.
The food is top restaurant quality with a really good selection of dishes. They always have a really good range of specials. The soup is always a good starter which is always different, huge portion and homemade with freshly made warm bread.
The sunday lunches are always really good. A great place to take the family and you always get a warm welcome. If you visit on Sunday lunch time you might have a wait but it is well worth it.
