I love the Beacon hotel I am a regular . The pub has to be expereienced its interior quite rightly is grade 2 listed . I visited the pub at a pivotal moment in my life and discovered Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild , a superb Victorian dark mild , then there was the Sedgley Surprise and the Amber , not to mention the winter warmer Snowflake . Now its just as well they sell guest ales as their own beers are not a patch on what they once were though very occasionally they hit the mark . The staff are freindly but often you can be in a state of beer deprivation because of thrir slowness .

One of the best pubs you could ever visit. Ok so only a couple of real ale on....But what a couple of real ales.... Sarah Hughes mild ale is one of the best and strongest milds you could / will taste. Outstanding place. Good if you have children to as there is a garden / play area at the back

Everyone in the country should come to this pub you will all be surprised by the quality of the home brewed beer and the quirkiness of the place see you there for a pint

This is a fantastic place for real ale lovers. Most of the beer is brewed on the premises; sedgley surprise, Sarah Hughes mild ale (strongest mild in the world) et al. Also some guest ales and 1 or 2 lagers. Proper cheese or ham cobs. Gets very busy at times but has several rooms. Locals are very friendly. Dogs allowed inside. Rooms served by one small round bar in the middle where you have to dip your head to speak. You just have to visit this place - its a gem.
