5 reviews of The Templeton in English
I was impressed with the Templeton when I visited for a wedding as it has an unpretentious, relaxed feel.
The main bar is lacking in atmosphere a bit, but it is only a hotel bar, but the function room gave the weddinig a less formal feel and had very friendly staff.
Prices for food and drink will tend to be less than the overpriced 'big name’ hotel around the corner.
For a wedding or function it might be just what you are looking for.
Been to a couple of great wedding receptions here. Great food and service. However, the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. My omlette was not nice and there is no ambiance at all.
The bedrooms aren’t that great. The one we had had a loft-style roof. Not great for my 6’8 boyfriend who kept hitting his head. Decor was a bit old-fashioned too.
Have used the hotels Sunday Carvery but not the hotel. Food was delicous. But restaurant had the feel of a youth hostel, no charm, no atmosphere. You also pay for your Carvery before they take you to the restaurant and drinks are charged separately at your table. All a bit strange, will not be returning.
