I don’t agree with the above reviews, I don’t really understand how people can complain about something which is a) cheap and b) offers something which no other restaurant in the area offers ie a really excellent play area. It is one of the few places if not the only place where my husband and I can go for a bite to eat and enjoy peace and quiet in between courses when the kids happily disappear into the play area. In other words, pure bliss for everyone. I have just had my little boys 6th birthday party there and the service was excellent and it was also cheap. Many of the parents who attended said they would be comming back. Any time I have been for a meal at weekends it has been extremely busy so I think that speaks for itself!!!!

I worked here when it was first open back in 2000 and I was still at school, even back then you got what you paid for. Most of the food was microwaved or prepacked although this is the same for most chains like this.

I’ve been back recently with my own daughter and it doesn’t look like it’s been updated at all since I was last their, the food has gone down hill and my meal was barely warm in parts and burnt in others.. the play area looks a bit run down and their were kids running about wild unsupervised when I was there.

The staff don’t really talk to the customers much and never seem that happy, not sure I’d go back for another 9 years..

As Brewers’ Fayres go, this is decided average. The meals are nothing fantastic, they never are, but there is a bar area conveniently completely separate from the family dining so depending on why you are there you can stay clear of the kids or not worry about bothering the kid-less.

The large indoor play area keeps the little ones occupied, but there are only a few tables with a view of the play area, all of which are designed for large groups. The play area itself has a couple of good slides and lots of different places for kids to explore. Unfortunately there are also several of the dreaded (by parents at least) rides.

Outside is another play area and a large are with picnic benches. The smoke free legislation has unfortunately made this the realm of the smokers (I really wish there was somewhere for smoking separate from where kids are expected) but if its not too packed with smokers its a nice place to sit on a sunny afternoon and enjoy a glass of wine while the wee ones burn off some energy.

this is probably not the worst place i’ve eaten, but it certainly comes pretty close. it is not clean, the service is terrible, the food was cold. they play area is dirty and you have to pay 2 pound for each child to play. the play area is sometimes left without an attendant, ( i dont think they should be allowed to leave). the play area looks like it is in need of an upgrade at least. everything in there seems to be sticky. In the restaurant, the tables are sticky. the menu’s are sticky and covered in food, you have to go and ask to have your dirty dishes removed from the table and chase them up for deserts. the final straw for me was when they finally brought the desserts out, the spoon i got was dirty, but not dirty like a bit if crusted on food, but actually dirty like it had been taken off someone else’s plate.

I WILL NOT BE BACK HERE.

This is the kind of place you never know what you are going to get until you get there. You never get the same thing twice in here. You have to go up to the bar with your food order and pay for it there and then. Sometimes the food comes out quickly, and sometimes not (unreliable). The food is often luke warm and the portion sizes can vary quite a bit, particularly with the kids meals. Almost every time I’ve been there, they have run out of something that I’ve ordered. The worst thing about this place is that once you finish your meal, the dirty dishes can be left lying on your table for upto 30 mins or until you ask them to take them away. On the whole it is not well run at all in my opinion
