The Swan Inn

A very pleasant bar. It's in an old building, which has been very sensitively decorated, making it feel contemporary without hiding it's history.

Reasonably priced drinks, and a lovely atmosphere to sit and relax in.

I've not had any food here, however the menu does look very interesting, with a wide choice of food, all at good prices.

When I arrived at the B&B and saw my room, I was shocked to see that the bed had not yet been made (although the landlord was expecting me at that time) and that there were brown stains all over the mattress. The rest of the room was also dirty, especially in the corners, so much so that I did not want to put my belongings on the floor, the bed, the chair or anywhere in the room.

In fact, the room was in such a poor condition that I asked the landlord later that day whether I could have my money back, as I decided that I could not bear to sleep in that bed and would prefer to stay in another hotel. He refused point blank to give me a refund, despite my concerns about the room.

Furthermore, I was very alarmed by the landlord's behaviour towards me and his general demeanour. He was unashamedly lewd, asking me whether I had a boyfriend and making entirely unprovoked suggestive comments.

I would most certainly not recommend this institution to anyone.

A very clean and contemporary bar on the edge of the town centre itself. It has obviously just been revamped and everything looks shiny and new inside which is nice. At times, there is a roaring fire to huddle up next to.

Sadly it has become rather victim of its own success and of late it has been hard to come by a table (Although it does add to the upbeat atmosphere if that is what you are looking for!)

A delicious wine list and although a bit basic, good food to eat should you wish (Lunch/sandwich menu on offer also!)

Not the cheapest place to drink but by no means unfairly priced. Lots of on street parking outside to make it nice and easy to get to and from!
