My favourite American Apparel store in London! The staff always wear the clothes so well and are more friendly and helpful than in other areas like the Shoreditch store. They usually have a great stock of clothes and rarely run low on the popular stuff.

This is a fab shop for basics at decent prices. I have their tee shirts in about five different colours. The hoodies are decent too. It’s also handy if you’re going on holiday and want to grab a load of vests, shorts and dresses in one go, all year round.

Some of the other stuff is a bit too cool for school, if you don’t fancy wearingLycra head to toe like Jane Fonda (though maybe this is because I’m getting a bit boring and sad in my old age). If you’re heading off to the states anytime, it’s worth doing a bulk-buy as it’s waaaay cheaper.

A very good place to shop for basics - American Apparel do the simple things well.

Reasonably priced and the staff aren’t full of themselves and are helpful without pestering customers.

Everything about this store is trendy, down to the warehouse style layout and aloof staff, but don’t let this put you off. Here you can pick up basics in every colour, as well as more adventurous lame leggings and catsuits (maybe only for fancy dress). This branch is large, with two well laid out floors and it’s not as busy as the Oxford Street branch. Prices can be steep for some items, but at least you know they are all ethically produced in America.
