Matalan

This branch of Matalan is in a bit of an odd location, set on its own in what is effectively an industrial estate. It’s handy though, and there’s plenty of parking (look out for the potholes though!).

It’s a really large shop, one of the biggest Matalan’s I’ve been in, and they have loads and loads of ladieswear, plus a really large mens department and some cute kidswear too. The best bit is the the homewares dept which isn’t especially cheap but generally good value and you can find things here that aren’t available elsewhere.

They still operate the ridiculous Member Card scheme, which doesn’t seem to have any benefits at all to the customer but I suppose they use for market research purposes. This can hold up the queue a bit though as people sometimes don’t realise they need one.

Great value - always plenty of choice in fashion for men and women and in homewear. New Party department with everything you need to have a great time and dress up as well.

Fantastic shop. The prices in Matalan are fantastic and the clothes and homewear are of really good quality. In particular it sells very cheap babies clothes (babygro’s with built in scratch mitts) for just a couple of pounds! You need to register with them to get a card in order to shop here but it is a simple and painless proceedure.
