One of my most favourite indian restaurants!!
Ive only been living in Portsmouth for two years on and off (being a student) and I visit this indian at least once a month.
The food is impeccable and the staff are extremely friendly and funny! The 20% student discount also makes it very affordable for us students.
Im looking forward to getting back to Portsmouth after the summer and having a reunion curry with my friends at this gem of a restaurant. =)

Average food, average staff, average price, average Indian restaurant. Therefore average review given. Having said all that I would be going back again. Love it.

Best Indian on Albert Road!! I’ve been to most of the Indians on Albert Road (I live near by.) and The Eastern Eye out shines the rest by a mile!
The staff are very friendly, very helpful and always up for a bit of a laugh and joke with you.
Food is faultless, as is the service. The staff now say hello to us when they see us in the street and we’ve only been they about 3 or 4 times.
Weekend evenings it get busy, so book, but during the week, you can usually get a table if you just show up.
With all the other attractions on Albert Road, the Eastern Eye is a great place to start your night out!

Probably my favourite Indian in Portsmouth. No - actually it must be - this is the first place I had a curry in Portsmouth and I have a lot of happy memories from there.

The food is good and the staff are willing to have a laugh and a joke with you. We always manage to get a free drink from the guy who runs this place. We ask for a student discount - despite being many years too old.

If you want a takeaway they’ll also sort you out with the obligatory free onion based salad. Plenty of newspapers to read while you wait but I would say the main business of this restaurant is sit down meals.

This is on Albert road so is a perfect end to a night of drinking in the pubs and bars just a short walk away. Parking may be an issue but you can park by the church for free, if you can find a space.
