Its a really good chippy, when I come over from Yorkshire I usually call for something before getting on the motorway home. As an ex Manc I love the range of pies and puddings, all ready cooked and ready to go. It gets busy but you soon get served. I don’t think its particulary expensive compaired to some in my locality

Good chippy, would've got 5 stars if it wasn't so bloody expensive !!!

I live in Salford, but it's well worth a drive up the hill to visit Armstrongs. Excellent value, and by far the best fish and chip shop around. Convenient for Heaton Park as well, so you may like to buy some food here before visiting the park, or maybe even afterwards. Good service as well, but as the other reviewer mentioned, it can be busy - but with good reason: the food is always worth the wait. Everywhere else feels like second best after eating here :)

Superb food and this is the one and only “Home of the Jumbo Cod” and this thing has to be seen to be believed. They have a wide range of food, but most of the dishes are traditional chippy favourates. Parking can be hit and miss as at tea time the place can get very very full of customers. Usally snaking out of the door, which must show you how good this place is. If you arn`t local but live in Manchester I would recomend a visit to here.
