Esporta Health & Racquets Club

This is a great gym, but not worth the £££ unfortunately.
I'm a huge gym goer and will travel and spend a lot for the right one, but I chose not to join here after spending a couple of years as a member previously.
While the outdoor pool is a huge draw, it tends to be rammed with children whenever it's warm enough to use it. The gym is well equipped and has an extensive class timetable, but it's not outstanding enough to warrant the monthly fees.

Really does make you want to get your kit off - and plunge (well, gently lower body - diving frowned upon)into the bright welcoming pool.

Big glass windows along the sides and end flood the blue bottomed indoor pool with shimmering light - really inviting on a sunny day and uplifting to the point of spurring you to swim up and down a bit - get that stress out of the system with a good water bashing.

Out door pool with sun loungers - could be on a med hol in the middle of Staffordshire - OK, flights of fancy maybe, but when the sun’s out, still a lot easier than queuing to catch an easyjet.

Other facilities top notch and good parking.

Highly recommended for sporting types who might want to laze about a bit as well (just need a friendly bank manager(hmm) to loan the sub fee).

Esporta is a good gym, with great facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor pools, with a children’s play section on the indoor pool and sun loungers around the outdoor one.

Some outisde tennis courts, a sauna and a steam room and of course, the fitness centre, full of the usual pain-making equipment.

Fairly child friendly, with a creche-type facility, as well as programmes for children during the school holidays.

Nice food in the bar too - although they can be pretty slow bringing it out…
