Compliment

Located in a former banking hall, this cavernous pub provides some of the cheapest pints in central London. It is one of my regular venues for meeting friends in this part of London.
Part of the J D Wetherspoons chain, the focus is on a wide selection of traditional real ales, although a variety of other drinks is also available. The pub can get very busy indeed after work (17-19h), but service is generally fast and cheerful, and after 19h it gets a bit quieter. Clientele are a mixture of Whitehall Civil Servants and tourists.
There's a non-smoking area in the back (until the UK smoking ban comes in) which is generally quieter, and they allow children in during the day for meals(check for details). The pub has the standard J D Wetherspoons pub grub - nothing particularly exciting, but filling and good value for money.
