The Postboys is a nice traditional local pub - not flashy, not over-decorated or tarted up. It attracts a mixture of students and locals, but no one group feels dominated or pushed out by another. It is a good place to meet friends to talk, staff are friendly, and there’s a good range of beers and ciders. Outside facilities are adequate, and if it’s not too cold the outside tables are a good place to escape the large tv screen on football evenings if you’re not a fan (and I’m not).
On non-sporting occasions, it’s a nice cosy place for a drink with mates.
