Elm Tree Inn & Barn Owl Restaurant

Having been to this Pub many times since it was taken over, I have never failed to be impressed with the standard they deliver. Whether it be a simple soup and side salad or something more fancy, the food is always superb and the portions ample (on occasions, chips do have to be left on the plate). The staff are always pleasant and despite us being “regulars” we never seem to be taken for granted which has happened in the past. Lovely decor – as someone said cosy without being claustrophobic. Log burning fires have been a lovely feature over the past few weeks. All in all, even though i have to drive to get to this pub, it is worthwhile not drinking just to be able to go and experience this lovely home cooked food.

I eat at the Elm Tree on a regular basis and believe me if the service were not second to none I would not eat there. I say the service but I must mention the very well served and cooked food by Chris and his team ,i and my family have always been treated with respect as a customer but. also as friends. Both Chris his wife Jean as the owners, Geoff and Adam being bar staff are always polite and knowledgeable about the Main Menu and the specials that are on offer. I would highly recomend to anyone that likes good, well cooked and presented food to give the Elm Tree a try you will not be disappointed. The portions are generous, no need to feel hungry afterwards!

It was a little village pub, kind of like the Parish Oven.
Food was OK, but a bit ponsey stacking the chips up in a criss cross shape. lol.

Lovely lovely food, excellent service and having a family member with a food intolerance, catered for, second to none. Approachable staff and above all they all have manners and are a credit to the establishment. Spoilt now !

Lovely little country pub.

Cosy dining area without being too small or claustrophobic. The menu was varied and there’s also a daily specials board to choose from. We all found something we fancied, including vegetarians and the food itself was tasty. Sunday lunch is particularly good but if you like to push the boat out then I’d highly recommend the Barn Owl Restaurant (next door). It has limited opening days/hours and is more upmarket and pricier than the pub itself, booking definitely recommended for that special occasion. There’s a lovely large beer garden for the summer too!
