Small venue for gigs hosting new and established acts with the downstairs gig space being bigger than the main floor which is usually just a bar but sometimes has live bands on too.

Good club night on at the weekends, cheap booze and a overall good vibe make the barfly a good place for a night out. Toilets leave a lot to be desired but the overall look of the place is of being a bit of a dive! All adds to the charm. As does the fuse ball table which is always fun to challenge someone to a game off!

Tiny small venue but has nice intamacy about it, not much space once your in your in, drinks are slightly overpirced, i havent been here for a night out, only for gigs so cant comment on nights out, but i cant imagine it being very good for anything other than live music

A nice and intimate venue this one.

Seen a few bands in here and always enjoyed it.

Can be a bit of a squeeze though when a band sells out in here and can also get quite stuffy.

Other than that it is a good place to enjoy an intimate gig and see a band close up and personal.

Potentially a great venue but let down by poor sound quality and horrible toilets! The place feels a bit lifeless at times; it’s probably better when it’s absolutely packed and you’re a bit too drunk to remember!

Still it’s another venue for touring bands and local bands alike to do their thing, and there seems to be something going on most nights.

That part of town i.e. behind St Enoch and near the River Clyde at Broomielaw can also be a bit dodgy with shady characters hanging about, so be on your guard!

Oh, I love Barfly. It’s part of a nationwide chain and the Glasgow club is just off St Enoch Square by the river. It has an upstairs and a downstairs and both have a bar and a dancefloor and host club nights. It’s a really intimate venue for gigs and getting to see a band here always feels special. Drinks are cheap at the bar, it’s never more than a few pounds to get in and the music is always spot on. You’re almost guaranteed to have a good night here.
