The adverts volume was worse that the movie volume itself. If you want to get a feel of what sound torture feels like go ahead and tryi it!
The movie even though it wasn't bad was spoilt at every moment that was an inclination of explosions or any other potentionally loud sound.
My wife and I can wrap the whole experience as uncomfortable. And my child (a big fan of movies like 'The Wizard of Oz', 'Wall.e', 'Tangled', 'Annie' and shorts like 'A Grand Day Out') though that the movie wasn't very good.
In all,it looks like we are not coming back to Vue Birkenhead, for another 7 years, at least. Even though was cheap (£1.50 a ticket).
Angelo (and his now temporarily deaf family)
Ps. Somebody needs to do a Health and Safety check on the volume in this place! And they definately should get cheaper popcorn and cheaper drinks, there prices are stupid to say the least. Has nobody in business figure it out that lowering prices increase volume sales! The margins in popcorn and and drinks are inmense. We don't fall for peer pressure so we didn't buy anything either!
you need to have your handbag search before you can get inside to watch a movie just incase you have a camera. the cup holders are to small for the drinks you buy, the price are too high and the food prices are just the same. before i go in to watch a movie, i would go round to ither shops and get my sweets or drinks from there now as its much cheaper. As long if its not cooked food its ok to bring your own in. I find its very cheap to do it that way

Nice big cinema with a town centre location but with plenty of parking (free after 6pm) bus (Birkenhead bus station) and train (Conway Park) links very close by. The cinema itself is cheaper than Vue Brombrough, Cheshire Oaks and Liverpool One. It supports the Orange Wednesdays offer, but doesn’t have a 3D screen. It provides a 'Kids AM’ scheme, where a U rated or PG rated film is shown in the morning (various times, usually around 11am) a Kids ticket costs £1.50 and the parent/guardian goes FREE.
Films generally start around 1.30pm and the last film is usually shown around 11pm. The screen rooms themselves vary in size usually relating to the popularity of the film and how long it has been released for. They have comfy individual seats with arm rests and cup holders. (These ones don’t move like they do in Cheshire Oaks) Try not to sit right at the front, you tend to get a bad neck as they have crammed as many seats as they can… too close to the screen. Penny sweets (none cost a penny, they cost a bomb! be careful, they dont weigh them until you’re at the till), soft drinks, hot dogs, natchos and ice cream are all for sale. Good cinema, nice staff.

My daughter gets a bit cross at this place. She is a smart 20 years old young woman , goes here with her boyfriend and is always subjected to a handbag search before she goes in. When her handbag has been searched, it has always been by a male, which can be embarrassing at times. A friend had the batteries from her digital camera confiscated. When she went to collect them at the end of the evening, there had been a change of staff shift and she didn’t get them back. Not a most welcoming environment. On the positive side, they stay open for very late movies. Parking is close by but only free after 6pm

Great cinema, with a free car park at night. They have a good selection at pick and mix- but be careful because it can be a not expensive!! Many screens and lots of movies to choose from. All staff seem very friendly and helpful. The hot food is nice, although there are times when you will need to wait a while in the queue. Definitely worth a visit.

This Vue cinema is cheaper than Cheshire Oaks! It doesn’t have an I-MAX cinema screen, but has around 12 screens showing the latest films. They don’t have many late night special viewings as Cheshire Oaks, but they are a nice cinema facility. These days you queue up to get food and tickets from the food tills which can cause long queues which is out of the staffs hands and more up to the senior management. The staff there are very friendly particularly the duty managers who do their best to accommodate your needs. There is pick and mix of course as standard here!! You can pick any seats – so get in early! Plenty of parking at night for free, but pay and display in the day.

I have rarely been disappointed when going to see a film at the VUE cinema. It’s very modern. The rooms are quite big, the seats are comfy and it is clean. The cup holders aren’t big enough for the large drinks however, which is rather frustrating as they can easily get knocked over on the floor. The screen sizes are good and there is always a good selection of films available to choose from. The staff are usually polite and welcoming. The toilets are kept in order and there is a small arcade to pass the time before a film if needed, ideal when trying to entertain small children. The VUE is always my first choice of venue when planning a trip to the cinema.
