it is a small place that does not look much but it is probably the most popular place for Chinese and Japanese people.

it gets very busy so sometimes you have to wait.

they do not accept cards or cheques.

the set meal is very cheap. The full menu is extensive and varied. the portions are large and well cooked.

having been to most of the places in Stowell Street I feel that this offers the finest Chinese food.

Note that since I wrote this review two new chefs have arrived. When they cook they give the usual large portions but it arrives very quickly, usually before the drinks. However it lacks flavour. With these chefs the food isn't as good.

This is a shame in my opinion. The best bet is to see how many people are inside, if there aren't many it may mean the new chefs are there.

This is a sad development in what is a great place.

My motto for Chinese or Indian food is look where the Chinese or Asian people eat and you can't go far wrong.
This place is always busy and there is a reason for it, the food here is very good and very well priced.

Chinese food is always tricky as the better half doesn't really do foreign food, yet she has a good choice of English food and I get very good Chinese food, particularly the shredded chicked in sweet and sour sauce.

Don't let the exterior fool you, this place is a little treasure, then nip next door to the Newcastle arms and you should be pretty happy.

Excellent food, goodly sized portions and not stupidly expensive. Shame you normally have to wait for a table [though they do do take-out] because its so popular. Coffee not for the faint hearted as its strong - to put it midly.

This is one of the places that the local chinese population tend to eat. It is on the corner and always busy at lunch time. The service is quick and they do vegetarian meals. The food here is quite cheap but tasty. It is not the best chinese resteraunt on stowell street but it is decent for the price
