2 reviews of Georgetown Sub Post Office in English
I daily use the shop - the bread, rolls, scones are delish and always arrive first thing in the morning and are sometimes still warm, good choice of cards too. One surprising things is there crisps and sweets are a lot cheaper than Calmac !! There is about a 10p difference in XL crisps and I bet both places get them from the same supplier - so well done Georgetown PO Shop for being reasonable.
As to the PO side - staff can be a bit standoffish and grumpy at times and not very welcoming - okay you dont want them to be gushy and over friendly but perhaps a hello, how are you, and a smile would go a long way
But thank goodness the Post Office is there to save the hassle of going to the main PO on the Sands. Again, shame they cant issue car tax tho !
Small but functional post office and shop. Post mistress can be a bit funny if you ask for these fancy services like 'special delivery’ or for proof of posting but the job gets done.
The shop sells a hotch potch of things - cards, newspapers, magazines, sweeties and some lovely home made cakes. These are paid for at a separate counter though as are not part of the Post Office itself.
Parking is a nightmare, people who don’t like to walk far swerve across the road and the rest park where they fancy. Add to this school pick up congestion and you really have to run the gauntlet to get in and out.
