Borderer Harvester

What can you not say about the Harvey, great food, loving the salad bar and refillable drinks, kids & adults love it. Great location, they struggle with a table for 5 & 6 though, long waiting time.

I generally enjoy the harvester and the food is always good not great but good….but whats with all the waiting and this goes for any harvester….you wait for someone to ask you how many people are dining, then you have to sit in the bar and wait for a table, then once you have your table you have to wait for someone to take you order, then you have to wait for your food, then you have to try and catch the waitreses attention for the bill, then you have to wait for the bill, then you have to try and catch the waitreses attention for the card machine, then you have to wait for the waitress to bring the card machine etc etc the whole thing just grinds me down I’m afraid, like I said I enjoy the food and the salad cart especially the red devil sauce is it?? but the dining experience leaves alot to be desired…..

Good place to go for a meal, I love the harvester’s blue cheese sauce from the salad bar.

I prefer Harvester food to other pub meals.

The Harvester in Malpas is one of my favorite places for a cheap meal out. Its a great place if you like to see your food cooked on the grill in front of you (if you are sitting near there). It has a warm and friendly, cosy atmosphere with good service. You cannot prebook a table which is a pritty especially on bank holidays where you might have to wait for a table, but there is a comfortable bar area where you can sit and wait. They evan hold weekly quiz’s if you live close enough just to pop in for a quiet drink. The food is fresh and tasty and there is a wide selection offered on the salad bar which is my favorite. The salad bar is free with your main course but dont be tempted to eat loads of salad whist waiting for your main course as i.

The Harvester in Malpas, Newport is great for good value food. It differs to the Harvester in Pontypool in that it is less open plan. The bar has an open fire. The dining experience is relaxed and they offer a wide range of meals from Steaks, to Spit Roast Chicken, Vegetarian options, and you can have unlimited trips to their well known salad cart (this includes lettuce, beetroot, pineapple Potato salad, croutons, crispy onion bits, carrot, and a selection of sauces and salad dressings). Early bird is a good time to visit, between 4pm and 6:30pm where they reduce the main menu prices by up to a third, and the bar is good to pop in just for a drink if you fancy. They have a small beer garden too which I s great for the summer months.
