Harvester At Sarn

Went there last night and it had definitely gone downhill since our last visit!  One of our party found a curly hair in their food, which put them off completely.  They did take this meal off the bill but by then it was too late.  They weren't too busy we still had to wait ages for a table when we arrived.

Our waitress was great - she was so embarrassed about the hair incident and she couldn't apologise enough.

The place was dirty, the ladies toilets were dusty and needed a good clean.  In my opinion this venue needs a thorough deep clean and the kitchen staff need to be reminded of food hygiene.  The furniture looked like it could do with replacing too.

Give this place a miss - you're really not missing much.

Been there four times the first two were great on these occasions the place was busy but not full and everything was ok.
But the last couple of times when we have had 30 or40 minutes wait for a table its been diabolical all the staff are flat out this makes for poor service and when the food eventually arrived it was still frozen inside which we sent back then it was I don't know microwaved to death came back like cardboard, chewy like leather we did not complain we just left it was the last thing the overworked staff wanted the people on the next table to us did enough of that and to be fair if we have to wait for a table we will go elsewhere on the whole its 50/50 so  2. 1/2 stars.  

This place is a bit hit and Miss.
I went there on a Sunday around October 2011 and not only was the service very very slow, it was also very busy there.
I had dirty cutlery, and every single bowl at the salad bar was crusted with dry food (these were supposed to be clean bowls) and there were flies on my salad.
My main meal was mediocre at best and ended up giving me a bad stomach.
Wouldnt eat there again.

I ate lunch here yesterday for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was large and clean and the service very good and friendly. The menu was large and varied with plenty of choice, competitively priced too. I was glad to see a few vegetarian options as well. I particularly liked the fact you could add to your meal from the large salad bar and go back as often as you liked! I just wish that, especially at lunchtime, there were some 'light bites' offered, like jacket potatoes with fillings, sandwiches, panini and so on.

The toilets were upstairs and the ladies room (the only toilets I can comment on!) was clean and pleasant. The only downside was the fact that almost all the soap dispensers were empty.

There is a car park directly outside and it's not far to walk to Sainsburys and the McArthur shopping area after your meal (as I did yesterday)! Of course, it's also easy to drive round.

On the whole, I was pleased by my 'Harvester Experience' and the nice atmosphere in the restaurant and shall be taking some friends there in June.

this is in my opinion the best place to eat in the Bridgend area (with exception my mum's house for Sunday Roast Yummmm), the staff are all super freindly & the food is delicious, the bread rolls with the salad bar are to die for! always still warm coz they must bake them consantly,also the refill centres for soft drinks are a blessing & saves a lot of money on drinks as you only pay for the first soft drink, the kids love it here 2, and in my family's case that means alot as we have an autistic child that doesnt take kindly to upsets when we are out,especially if the food takes too long to arrive, we have had many stress free visits here & now is our place of choice for all occations,well done Harvesters Bridgend, keep up the good work!!!!!

This is the best harvester in the area. Lots of choice on the menu and staff are always friendly and polite. Food is of a top quallity and have never had a bad meal here.

This particular Harvester restaurant is great. The food is delicious, and also reasonably priced – especially if you arrive before 6, and order something from the early bird deal. The staff are friendly and helpful, and if it is not too busy, the service is really quick. However, if you pick a busy day to visit, you may have to wait around half an hour to be seated. But personally I think considering how good value the place is, and how nice it is, it’s worth the wait.

In theory a high end pub meal, and a good pub meal at that. The food is delicous and the service is very good. The staff are friendly. The early bird deal is good, especially if you just want a bit of food and a gossip with your friends. They have an excellent range of foods on offer, and there is something for everyone. This since opening has been another popular choice in our family.we enjoy a meal before the cinema as well as a lunch time treat.they are always busy especially for the early bird selection times.Seems to offer choices to cater for young and old alike.When l did have a complaint it was handled proffessionally and re affirmed my faith in the company.
Think the smells pumped out onto the rounderbout outside lure people in-certainly never fails to make me salivate!!!Great deserts if you can find the room!!!

This is my favourite place to go for a family meal. The service is great there, the staff are always really friendly. I love the salad bar there. Its a great idea, as much salad (and bread rolls) as you can eat!!!!
I take my two year old son there and even though there is no play area, they always give him an activity pack with crayons.
The restaurant is also located in a easily accesable area, surrounded by a large shopping centre. Its the ideal place to rest up after a long day of shopping…... oooh and we always try to make the early bird special which is Mon - Fri until 6pm - a bargain with a 3rd off the original prices!!!

I think this is a really good Harvester the food is good, not too expensive and there is always a good choice.
We really like the salad bar with the fresh bread and all the different dressings. It is a pleasant place to eat even when it is busy as is split in lots of different sections which makes it feel more private.
I would say if you go on a Sunday lunch time be prepared to wait as it does get really busy. You can also get the early bird I think on Monday to Saturday before 7.00pm it is 1/3 off all meals which is really good value. They are also very welcoming to even young children.
