If they are [as per other review] the best in Penrith, I dread to think what the others are like.
And the curry was tasteless !
I have given them one star because I can't give NONE !

It’s a bad trip to Penrith if I can’t get fish and chips and a tin of pop from the Little Chippy, cross the road and sit and eat them under the Market Cross’ sheltering roof. Virtually cooked to order, efficient and cheerful service, realistic prices, what better way to stoke up on the way in to the Lake District? Well worth diverting from the Motorway. You won’t find better fare for miles around.

OMG!!!! This is by far the best chippy I have ever eaten from. The chips were to die for and the fish…what can I say…....crispy batter, thick chunky flakes…..and NO BONES!!!!we were camping at Ullswater and went two nights running they were so good. If you are in the area take my word for it you should stop and try the fish & chips. Peas & gravy, yum yum…....Chippy heaven!!!

A really great chippy that was my favourite when I lived in Penrith. Everyone else must think so aswell as it can get really busy at tea time.
The batter on the fish is so crispy and not fatty at all. The chips are definitely the best in town. They do the normal range of chip shop fayre including battered burgers, mushy peas and haggis. All completely delicious and incredibly tasty. They also do chips, cheese and gravy which if you have never had it before you really should try it from here even though it may sound odd, it is lovely. The place is really clean and the prices are really good, it isn’t anymore costly than any other takeaway in the town.

This is a good chip shop and if we are ever passing the area we always detour to here.
You have a choice of fish and I always choose Pollock rather than cod because it’s not only good to give the cod a break but you get twice the amount of fish for your money compared to cod.

I think it has the best chips in Penrith so that’s all there is to say really.
