The Phantom

I have been here twice for 2 football finals and the atmosphere has been amazing. This is a place for the die hard fans who will be singing all night long. Not sure about coming here other than a major sports event

The Phantom is part of the “It’s a Scream” group of pubs and as such offers a Yellow Card to students for discounts on drinks and food. this particular It’s a Scream offers the usual range of facilities. There are a couple of Pool Tables towards the back of the pub and a few gambling machines and arcade type machines. There is a large bar area and a DJ booth towards the front of the bar. It seems to get pretty busy early on then the crowds tend to head for other places further into town.

There are also a lot of tv screens in the bar which make it a good place to watch sport events. It’s not nearly as rough as the Gallery and I think they still let you have proper glasses on match days but I could be wrong!

This is a branch of the Scream bars, and as such, isn’t really that exciting. It offers cheap drinks, and is a good place to start the night, but the whole atmosphere is a bit cheap and not somewhere you’d really want to hang around in for too long. They have comfy sofas to lounge around in, and also offer food during the day, but I think it’s normally pretty empty, being that bit further out of town. Although they occasionally offer pub quiz’s, this is probably more of a locals pub than for students, which makes a refreshing change from some of Loughborough’s other offerings.
