Pretty dire!! I hadn’t used this place in years, (until yesterday). What a clanger…abysmal!!
Used to be a geat place before catching your train home but not now.
Vastly overpriced and such a blaze’ attitude by staff is not conducive to filling your bars.
Go elsewhere…anywhere, but here!

To be honest there are not many places to go in the Victoria area so you are better off travelling 10 mins to the West End or Chelsea. The Shakespear is definitely not a place you would call your local! This is more of a "transient pit stop" The food and service is bad. Ambience wise is very clicky especially on a Friday or Saturday night if Pacha is open. Only drink here if you are that desperate!!

very very poor.ordered food and it came out cold.asked for another meal and they never came out with it.Manager was uninterested in my complaints and begrudgingly slammed my refund on d table.Worst restaurant/pub I have ever been in.

Went here on a staff night out and was absolutely disgusted with the treatment that one of my disabled colleagues received from a French Bar Manager who essentially told her (severely disabled though she was) to man up and stop whining that the disabled toilets were out of order and use the stairs like any normal person.
Expensive for what you get, microwaved food and very poor customer service!
A classic example of everything that could be bad within the British Publican's trade!!!
Avoid at all costs

Considering this pub is pretty dire, it's bloody expensive. But, being right by Victoria station it's always busy. It's not unlike a Wetherspoons. At all, actually. You'd be mistaken for thinking it was one. There's nothing exciting about it (the same can be said about the rest of Victoria) and the only reason you'd come here is if you were in the area and you wanted somewhere to meet without putting in any effort.
The beer was fine, but £3.70 for a pint in a shit pub is really not cool. The fact that they have BACARDI BREEZERS ON TAP should tell you all you need to know about this pub.

Well it was a bad idea when I suggested to my mates that we should go here.
£1.35 for one slice of stale bread. None of the staff had English as a first language. Toilets were in disrepair. Food was poor and orders were incorrect. Guinness was poured too quickly.
A terribly terrible pub. Go to the Wetherspoons in Victoria station instead. Avoid at all costs.

The Shakespeare Tavern is a bit run down, the beer is pricey and the service is slow. The downstairs bar is quite nice and intimate, and the location - right across the road from Victoria bus and train stations - is handy. But in an area full of bars, there’s not enough to make it stand out above the crowd.

Great location right by Victoria Train Station for a drink after work before heading home. Serves pub grub at normal prices but service can be slow. The downstairs bar is a little gem full of nooks and crannies. They have live music.
