A nice hotel but a little too central for my liking which makes the rooms a little noisy. The rooms are also small which is the penalty you payfor staying in an original 16th century building. The best feature of this delightful hotel has always been in my experience the staff. I can strongly recommend the hotel bar for a wide range of local beers in a cosy atmosphere however, when I last went on a Saturday night the clientele was a little rowdy for my liking.
try the bar food and the restaurant as both are quite good value for the centre of stratford

I stayed here on a recent trip and it truly is a lovely place to stay. I found a cheap offer on the internet but I wouldn’t have minded paying more. Its located right in the centre of town, about 10 minutes walk from the train station and literally just around the corner from the RSC theatres. Its also the next street on from all the lovely restaurants and bars. The rooms are small but have fitted wardrobes and you’ll find everything you need in them. A real old Shakespearian building with beams it feels a really authentic and appropriate place to stay when visting such a historic place.
