We stopped in here after cycling to Holborn and back early one morning.
It's a lovely cafe with a great outdoor space - perfect for warm, sunny days.
We found the service a little slow but maybe that was because we'd just been cycling for about 1.5hrs and needed to eat. The food was lovely and fresh, although my companion, who had the German breakfast, grumbled about the quantity. I blamed the grumble on low blood sugar but reading other comments I'm not so sure.

Lovely little cafe , truly a wee Jem of ladywell . Interesting decor and very friendly staff. We ordered the german breakfast which was over £5 , it came with a very small glass of orange juice ( holiday inn kind of size) and very little topping for a heap of bread . I can't fault the quality of the food but there wasn't much of it for the money we paid. A lovely cafe but shame about their portions.

Lovely little cafe where you can pop in for a cake or pannini - nice decor, nice atmosphere, and a garden area at the back which is eclectically decorated with various bits of sculpture.
Perfect for a summer natter with a friend.

As Sarah says, Oscars isn't cheap, but it does far outstrip the other cafes nearby. Gorgeous, homemade food, locally-sourced, and the decor is kitschy and charming; modern but full of character. The owner's mark is stamped all over this place; she is obviously passionate about what she does, and it definitely shows. And the garden is a perfect place to hole up with a book and an ice-cream when the sun is shining. The locals of Ladywell maybe have been gobsmacked when Oscars set up shop, but it's revitalised the high street and now has a fiercely loyal clientele.

A really lovely little oasis in the desert that is Ladywell, Oscars opened last year to double-takes all across the area. Its tasteful Nigella-feel pastels and dainty cakes are a welcome and long-awaited treat for Ladywell Road, which is mostly populated with sad-looking newsagents and drab store fronts. Petra offers locally made produce including great cupcakes, bread, sandwiches, the best coffee in the area, and is open at convenient commuting hours so you can grab something on the way to the station. The cafe is beautiofully decorated with a home-made feel, the little garden out the back is clearly doneon a budget but well, with bits and pieces of art (sculptures hidden in teh undergrowth, mirrored pieces on teh walls) to keep the customer amused. Great Italian ice cream too, so a real pull for the kids. Be ready to splash a little cash; it’s not cheap, but then, quality never is.
