Black Angus Steak House

Nice steakhouse! Was here on a Groupon coupon, got a HUGE steak to split for 2, nicely done, also a nice cut.

Excellent meat, friendly service. We went there yesterday without a coupon (Gutschein) but were asked if we had one. It seems quite popular lately, but I personally dislike the coupon deals... And dislike even more the people who can't go out but for the cheapest deals and still dare to complaint about poor service... Anyway. Meat is really the specialty of Black Angus : I ordered 180g filet, rare, and spinach and I got the best quality & service you can expect for 19€. Red wine is average good but also at a fair price. Most important : The lady waitress was attentionate and pleasant. I can confirm that the furniture is indeed a bit old-fashioned and the location isn't exactly the hypest in Hamburg. But seriously?! We were 5 of us and paid 140€. Please try this place without Gutschein and with a big smile.

The guy who runs this place is quite active here on Qype. The two other reviews in English I find quite fishy. Seems like he may have written them due to the horrible English. Both users with only one review.....strange! He also acts like a jerk to the people when responding on the German language reviews. Anyway, take all the stuff written here about this place with a grain of salt. The food is what matters most. I had a steak and have to say I wasn't disappointed. For the price it was a very good filet. My girlfriend had ordered fish and it was ok but definitely not spectacular. The side order of spinach was way too oily and not really much to speak of. The house wine was pretty bad. Hence no stars for food. Buying a good piece of meat and preparing it on the grill really isn't rocket science. The rest is what matters and they managed to get that all wrong. Outside of the steak, everything was blah. Why two stars. Well, I'll give them one for my good steak and one for the ok interior. The rest all goes downhill. Service tried to be nice but inherently these people are not happy to be serving you. The woman (who I guess is the wife of the owner) walks around with a frown on her face (as does her husband). There is just such a bad vibe in this restaurant. Plus all their complaining about vouchers and coupons. If you were so unprepared for this then it's all your fault. Don't blame people for using something you offered. Finally, when I am reserving a table, don't bark at me "you got a coupon"? Then, when I sit down, ask me again for a coupon and so forth. Oh well, we gave this place a try and definitely won't be back. Since they are dependent on coupons for business and their service stinks, hopefully they'll go bust soon and someone who'll put the time and effort into the restaurant business takes over. There must be some good grills in the kitchen.

No matter the poor interior, the steak is always exquisite. Some fine meat. Perfectly grilled. The service is very attentive and polite. I really enjoy getting my regular dose of a good chunk of meat at the Black Angus.

I travel Hamburg City for Couple of days.It is so nice City & Specially I need to mentioned that about Black Angus Steak house restaurant.there Food is so tasty.First time I just went for having dinner but after that I was really surprised about steak ..its really different taste & maybe I cant ever forget about it tasty. fist time I tought that it will be expensive but price was really reasonable & service was wonderful & very hospitality.I m really happy because I got different & wonderful taste from Black angus restaurant.just I m missing it now…maybe I need to go hamburg again for taking this tasty
