Every outside table was filthy as was the floor. Jokingly I asked for a cloth to clean the table and was given a filthy rag. We should have left then.
We were forced to pay for each course as "people sitting outside walk off without paying".
First course arrived and was OK. I went in and paid for the next courses and coffee and pointed out the disgusting conditions. We were told it was the new owners fault. The staff were surly and indifferent and obviously had no idea about service. The main course arrived with two dirty plates (one with hairs). My son was hungry and so wiped his but my wife took in the other dirty plate. Even though we had paid the only response was "Do you want another burger" said with disbelief. We had no cutlery and had to ask for it. When it arrived there was a knife that was literally covered in dirty food. I pointed this out to the unsmiling waitress who told me not to be rude to her.
Even though we had prepaid over £100 he left this disgusting venue.
I urge you not to go there
One of the worst places I have been to. Disinterested staff, cold food and the worst roast potatoes ever recorded. To be fair, I have been twice and both were the same.
Not for us!! Ugh

Awful service, awful food.
We booked using the online booking service. Got there and no booking. The girl simply said.. yeah that never really works. Whats the point of having it then?! Also, online I had asked for a highchair to be reserved. Another waitress advised that they only have 3 available and the 12 o’clockers get them first (we arrived at 3). For a family place I find it odd that they only have 3 highchairs! The waitress looked at our son and said oh he will be fine in a booster seat! He is 8 months old and not able to hold himself yet!
He ended up on the floor for the remainder of our meal.
So, the meal… starters were prawn cocktail which was ok. Main we all had roast beef. The cheapest cut of beef was used (silverside) it was stringy, tough and tasteless. The veg is frozen and hard. The potatoes were dry and unseasoned. The yorkshire pudding would have caused serious injury to someone if thrown! Rock hard! All this and you were expected to cut through it all with what was similar to a butter knife!
Because of the highchair fiasco we felt like an inconveinence to the staff.
This was a test meal in preperation to book a large Xmas family dinner…. This place will certainly NOT be getting our business.

Charming and ambient atmosphere, specialises in freshly caught fish and seafood dishes. Great for couples and families alike.

This place is big and serves food until 9pm I believe. The parking is good with a very large private car park and there is plenty of seating outdoors too for the fine weather.
Good for families, like ours, and they do provide high chairs for babies (which is a nice touch for a pub!) and the service is fast, a little too fast for the food to be freshly cooked, so a compromise methinks. My Sunday roast (veggie) was filling if anything…. but my other half was totally pleased with her Fish Pie.
Average fare without any gastro touches - more Aunt Bessie than Fat Duck.

Set just back from the road this is a beautiful pub surrounded by trees with tables and chairs so you can sit outside. Food is lovely and you get great service. Bit out of the way so you would possibly need to drive but its great for a nice quiet drink in a nice setting.
