4 reviews of porto airport in English
Decent amount of shops and places to eat, much more once you go through the departure gates.
Most things in the food shops were more expensive than what you would pay in town, but that is fairly normal for airports.
I love the small airports all over the world. You feel a little bit like in the 80ies (or 70ies or 60ies – depends on the city!).
Porto airport is one of my favorites due to its clarity and charm. You will feel at home at once. If you travel to the north of Portugal chosse this destination. It is worth a ride.

Nice and tidy airport. You can stay there overnight (to catch the early Ryanair flights, for example). Yellow Metro line to the city centre (25 min, 4 €), from 06:00 to 01:00.
Illusion4u Let me correct you. Metro costs 1.5€ (Z4 ticket) That alows you do all the violet line (The AEROPORTO line).

It wasn’t summer so that accounts for some of the lack of people. But this airport, like so much of the spanking new tourist infrastucture in Porto, is being used to about 10 percent of its capacity.
This airport feels like it could rival charles de gaul or Melbourne. Just an endless processions of glass roofs, shiny floors and steel columns. I think we were at gate 29 and we had to walk past 28 other completely empty gates to get to our flight.
Either this place is really full in summer or some politicians are very hopeful about the future of tourism here. (or they have shares in an airport building company).
The facilities were OK though. People were friendly, there was more than one resaurant open and a selection of shops.
Bit post apocalyptic but otherwise not a bad joint.
