The Tanning Shop

I recently booked a spray tan in Bath for a couple of wediings, and spoke to a member of staff on the phone beforehand to discuss preparation, 'customer blend' and shade.
When i arrived I was dissappointed to find that I couldn't use the sunbed first as the till 'couldn't compute both'.
The booth was still dirty from the day before, and the staff member was polite and helpful in cleaning it before explaining the procedure.
The tan was not as described on the website- the booth was rusty and cold, there was no mention of 'customer blend' and certainly no 'heating and drying function'.
There was no guiding voice and my skin was left dripping wet.
The worst part was that the product pooled on the back of my knees and did not cover my calves at all. I had to wipe off the liquid. Again the staff member was helpful in letting me have some mousse to apply to my legs (I had to ask for it). Overall I was very dissappointed as the tan was very light ( i was strongly recommended the light shade through i said i wanted a very noticeacble tan). I had to buy a tanning lotion to top up in the evening and cover my legs.
All I wanted was tanned legs for the weddings and this certainly was not worth £19.99.

The Tanning Shop is in the centre of Bath – which means you have to pay for parking if you’re just popping in but other than that there are no negatives. There are 6 stand up beds and 2 lie downs, it’s adviseable to book at peak times like lunch or after work but you rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes for a bed. The staff are professional and friendly, and are well informed of all the latest offers. They also do spray tans which I’ve never had but have heard are well done and look good. The offers are sometimes very attractive with 3 for 2 deals etc, and deals including lotion and free minutes which makes your tan last longer. Very clean and hygenic, the staff always prepare each bed for the new user.

I went in here one summer to try out the tanning booths for a trial for my wedding. There were quite a few boothes and it was quite busy, but the tan itself only took 60 seconds. You stand on a marker and press a button and spray starts from your feet and works up. You have to hold your breath unless you want to inhale it, I cant imagine its that good for you! and then you turn around and it comes on again. Its quite noisy and makes you jump but the end result it great, very natural looking with no streaks.
