Crowne Plaza London Western Gateway

I am extremely contented with my stay at Crowne Plaza hotel. I would certainly go on recommending this four-star hotel to my friends and relatives because the hospitality that I have taken delight in was up to the level of my expectations. It is fully equipped with all the amenities that are required to make one's stay a pleasurable one.

Das “Crowne Plaza” ist ein sehr stylishes Viersterne-Hotel in den Londoner Docklands - farblich überwiegen hier ein warmes rot sowie dunkle Holztöne…sehr geschmackvoll und chic!!! Von meinem Fenster aus konnte ich auf die Docklands mit Wohnhäusern, den Millenniumdome sowie die Bankenskyline von London blicken. Es gibt in diesem Hotel einen wunderschönen Pool, den ich aber leider nicht genutzt habe.
Das Essen im Restaurant war lecker, das Personal nett und die Preise völlig angemessen für Londoner Verhältnisse! Das Businesshotel ist übrigens nur maximal zehn Taximinuten (20 Euro) vom Flughafen “London City” entfernt.
Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt!

This is a very nice four star hotel. I can see its a nice place to stay for business people who are visiting Canary Wharf. Its in a tranquil, yet well connected location. Although saying that, when we were there the DLR had weekend engineering works so we found it near impossible to get home, with the inadequate bus replacement service. I mention this only to warn you to check out weekend transport, as it can be really annoying.

I have to mention the breakfast at this hotel. I didn’t have it, as I booked room only. They charge £17 per person. Apparently its very good, the receptionist said. It’s the most expensive English breakfast I’ve ever heard of! There is a bar/grill restaurant within the hotel, and I think the prices there were more reasonable. On the Friday night we were there, they had live music too which was a nice feature.

The rooms itself, are very high quality. Its a new, modern hotel, and the rooms are really comfortable. Very large beds, nice bathrooms. The staff in reception are also very helpful. There is a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, and spa within the hotel too, although its also a private membership gym to local residents. When we tried it in the morning it was very quiet.

The hotel is also right in front of the docks, so the front of the hotel has some nice views over the water. Overall, I would definitely recommend this if you want to take a break in London and don’t want to stay in a hotel in the heavily populated streets in Central London.
