As someone who visits London fairly often from Edinburgh, I find this Travelodge to be a particularly good base for me.
The hotel is situated just off the Marylebone Road and just beside Marylebone station, meaning you have the tube almost on your doorstep.
Within a five minute walk you also have Baker Street station heading east, and Edgware Road station going west, giving further opportunities to travel in the city and this is perfect for me as I have family in Fulham and love to shop in Hammersmith and Kensington.
The Travelodge has fairly small rooms with only double and single rooms on offer. This is fine for me as I invariably only travel with my daughter but if you are looking for a family room this isn’t the place to book.
Each room has a TV and ensuite facilities, and there is a kettle and tea and coffee for your use.
There is a bar in the basement of the hotel but this is usually very quiet and lacks much in the way of atmosphere.
There is a much more pleasant restaurant next to reception where you can have breakfast (which I don’t particularly recommend!) or lunch or dinner from the fairly limited menu.
Prices for this hotel vary wildly - on promotions I have been able to secure a room here for just £9 but at busier periods you can pay upwards of £100 for the same room.
If you can get a good rate this hotel is excellent however, and it gets points from me for being fairly central but quiet at nighttime too.
