There’s something mildly incongruous about the placement of this particular River Island store, although I don’t doubt that they’d been waiting for a retail unit in the Canary Wharf development, and it’s just unfortunate that they’ve been placed in the very upmarket new Cabot Place lower level development (neighbours include Dune, Zara, and some very posh boutiques…).
Having said that, I think the store itself has got it just right. It’s spacious, and unlike a lot of Canary Wharf developments, the rails and racks are spread out, and there’s plenty of room to see what you want, and look at it properly before decided to try on/buy. They’ve taken a brave decision not to compromise on the range too much, as it makes them one of the few places on the Wharf that you can buy a funky little top to go out straight from work without taking out a second mortgage.
