A very good place to go for Students. Plenty of Bargains to be had and particularly offers at Christmas and during Spring Gardening offers.

The only downside is that it can be particularly busy in the afternoons and you may have to queue for a while.

If you want it Wilkinson have it. In the times of the credit crunch stores such as Wilkinson are keeping their place in the high street. This store is a hidden gem, on the main street, but slightly away from the main touristy route. Wilkinson stores stocks everything from nappies to deordrants, childrens toys to knitting wool, washing up liquid to bubblebath. The prices in Wilkinson are excellent, the staff here are really friendly and helpful and this store is a pleasure to shop in.

This is one of the best stores in the country, and also one of the largest, selling a variety of products, from homeware, to stationary, and even food, and cosmetics. It is usually situated on busy high streets, with a lot of competition from other big name shops, but in my past experience, I have found that Wilkinsons excells in many areas, a lot better than the others. You see on TV about insurance companies stating that they will refund you if you find their service cheaper anywhere else, and I thought that a retail store could never do that, but this company does, and when they say they do, they really do, without a doubt, and I have used this service on many occasions.

Like I said before, they sell all kinds of products, and when I was at university, I found that their stationary section was particularly useful. They offer great prices on everything, and when it comes to hardware, such as paint and the like, you wont find a price better anywhere else. Now, they have even issued a catologue so that you can look up the products you need before shopping anywhere else, and in most cases, you will find that they are a lot cheaper. Like many stores, Wilkinsons varies in size, and the larger ones offer more services than smaller ones, such as top ups, cash machines, and believe it or not, customer service stations. Considering that this store is much like Argos, the fact that they dont offer some sort of discount card or cashback offer is rather suprising, and I hope that in the future they consider inplementing such a system.

This place is a little hidden gem that many people seem to be unaware of.
I’ve seen many people doing their weekly shopping here for toiletry items and some grocery goods, but often you’ll find that the items are cheaper in other main stream shops such as Tesco or Sainsbury.
Where Wilkinson really comes into its own is with their home items and diy goods.
These lines are really cheap and often good quality. Ideal if you are just setting up home for the first time and you need to kit out your kitchen with crockery etc but are on a tight budget.

Wilkinson or wilkos as it is also known as. Predominately found in the north west this is like a cross between hardware store and general housewares.

Moving here form an area that didnt have these stores years ago i was flabbergasted at the value of the brand products, some of which are a good bit cheaper than tesco and asda.

For example i got most printer paper and stationery from their from uni on the cheap and still have most of it to this day.

They also have a wide array of garden and pet products with hardware goods.

If you’re redecorating or moved house this is basically a one stop shop for all that will be needed, also this year they have sorted out their online shoping site which makes shopping their easier if they don’t have what you want in stock at the time

Make this your home essentials shop and save yourself a small fortune. Wilkinson does amazingly expensive and luxurious looking items for the cheapest prices i have found anywhere. Take their lamps for example, they look like they come straight off the shelves in habitat with the only difference being the subtraction of the 0 off £40. There is everything here. Gardening, crafts, toys, christmas decorations, sweets, gifts gifts and gifts, candles, quilts, throws, toiletries, bathroom essentials. Really, everything. Its a big store with plenty of space. There is a saver stamps scheme for those into that kind of think which offers a 5% discount on purchases of £20. Bring your own bags to help out the environment. You’ll be needed lots!

This is a great place to buy virtually anything you need!

during the summer, the garden and bbq range is great and you can get everything you need for that summer bbq at knockdown prices.

you can always find a last minute gift here and there is quite a good craft range so you can have a go at making your own gifts without breaking the bank. especially good if you mess up and discover you have no creative talent.

I like that you can find decent kitchenware, and often the odd bit of designer kitchenware at cheaper than usual prices.

This is an ideal place to go to if you need to redecorate within a tight budget as they offer everything from paint and soft furnishings, to the tools you will need to redecorate with, all at sensible prices.

This reminds me of an old fashioned hardware store.

It really is a great place for getting hold of bits and bobs for the house. It stocks a wide range of items from garden and outdoor, decorating, health and beauty, babycare. Its stocks cleaning products, paints, photo frames, cutlery, toys and stationary.

You can get hold of some items a lot cheaper than buying them from say B&Q. I have bought a shower switch for half the price I paid elsewhere. Would recommend you take a look in here first.

Located in the city centre so no parking if you need to pick up large items

Wilkinson has a good range of homeware essentials. Always worth a look in if you are after some shampoo or other toiletries as they are often 2 for the price of 1.
They sell garden things (patio furniture etc) as well as screws, lightbulbs and all the other bits and pieces you might need for your home.

The DIY section can be quite useful if you don’t have a car to visit the larger out of town superstores and the prices are usually less than similar items in other high street shops.

There are a limited number of tills in the Chester store so you may have to queue for a while, and there is no way to leave the store without going through the till area so even if you decide the queue is too long, it may take you a while to get out again.

The shop is fairly clean, although has the smell that these places usually attract; a combination of bathroom and garden products which isnt very attractive but is understandable.
