Farington Lodge Hotel

Went to the hotel yesterday for a family wedding. We weren't impressed that a busy wedding bar was COMPLETELY UNSTAFFED at times.......... I approached the bar, there was a man behind the bar cleaning the coffee machine, I made eye contact with him several times, thinking "OK, he'll finish what he's doing and then take my order"..... How wrong.... He spent another 5 minutes lovingly attending to his coffee machine metal work, then turned to me and said "I'll go and find someone". I'm sorry - you're behind the bar and you're not actually bar tending? OK..........................
Never mind the fact that the prices are rip-off city - £11 for a gin and tonic and a pint of Kronenburg??!! Them's London prices -and dear London prices at that!
Anyway, the wedding itself was nice (though they could have shut the door to the hotel dining room so we didn't have loads of people ploughing through their roast beef and yorkshires and gawping at the bride)............
On to the wedding breakfast........... well, if it had been my wedding I would have been seriously unhappy. Chairs with huge chunks of ripped out upholstery, dirty tablecloths, vegetarians kept waiting for 20 minutes after everyone else had been served...........

It was a good night but if I had paid as much as I know the bride and groom paid for this do, I would be mighty p**d off

Excellent venue which caters for your training needs. Lovely food served good choice and staff extremely helpful. Highly recommeded.

Once again had to work away from home, company booked us into the Royal Farrington lodge,
The first time was an utter disaster, reception staff were very friendly but once I opened the door to my room it all went very wrong, the main room was very very large with only a bed and a bureau and a small desk, this coupled with massively high callings made for a very loud room and it was freezing, and I do mean freezing to the point in the morning I awoke to see condensation coming from my mouth as I was in bed. NOT GOOD. And then had to wait for 50 minuets for breakfast because “the Hotel was not aware that there would be so many of us at once” If a Hotel can’t cater for eight people for breakfast (a very measly one at that) at the same time, how can they call themselves a Royal Hotel.

Fabulouse food the restaurant is a regular for us when we want that special simple dinner!!!!!

This hotel is gorgeous, when you’re inside you don’t feel like you’re in Leyland! The rooms are quite large and very comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food at the hotel is superb but the bar is very expensive!
