An Aladdin’s cave for any cook - this place stocks pretty much anything that any aspiring Jamie or Gordon could long for. The cookware is excellent, brands such as Le Creuset and Anolon, Global and Sabatier knives etc.

They also have the largest range of gadgets for the kitchen, whether you’re pitting olives, zesting limes or boiling jams - you name it, it’s here.

The staff are just brilliant too, very knowledgeable and helpful.

This is a really brilliant cook ware shop. They have a huge range of unusual stock items, including Le Creuset and Typhoon. They carry some gorgeous retro style items which I love! Their range of baking ware is excellent, with lots of different tins, cutters, boards and boxes. A very wide range of knives and utensils. They also have supplies for jam making. Upstairs is more expensive designer items such as Alessi, but equally worth a look. I could quite easily spend ages just browsing here and spend a fortune!!! It is not on the main shopping street but well worth a diversionary trip!

Wow what a wicked store for kitchen wear it must have everything and more you could ever need in your kitchen and some!

Lovley store with a nice quality feel, good staff members on hand to help and always get good service no matter what you are buying there.

Little bit pricey but I guess thats because its independant and the quality of the goods on offer is why.

Abraxas have recently bought out Churchs - a traditional family firm for china and kitchenware. They also operate a bigger concession in the Heart of the Shires. I love this shop and you will always frind something for a gift or for your kitchen. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Churchs is next door for your traditional gifts and Chinas and this road has great individual shops.

I must admit, Abraxas Cook Shop was one of those places I used to walk straight past on my way into town until I needed a specific piece of kitchen equipment. Unfortunately they didn’t have the item I was looking for (it was quite specific), they have loads of both useful and great looking things for every kitchen. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I ended up purchasing was too many things. Shops like this need our support to remain open in these tough times so make sure you visit!
