Still closed.. Thursday.. Word is that the Tracky opens again tomorrow.. minus a member of staff or two.. so has it been handbags at 10 paces? maybe “downsizing”? or has someone spit their dummy out??

Lovely beer and nice atmosphere – I like the one called piston broke they have on at the moment.
I visited the Trackside on Tuesday January 6th 2009.
Good beer?
This is all very well.. if only the place hadn’t closed down.. No sign that it will re-open anytime soon either!!

The erstwhile manageress left abruptly on Tuesday morning.. Friday evening and today the best of the remaining barstaff gave sterling service, as is their wont.
The new manager has yet to be appointed.. favourite with the regular punters (Straw poll this evening) will be Dean.. hard working, and knows the cellar inside out.. so probably no chance eh?
Long live the Trackside…
A little gem in the centre of Bury situated next to the East Lancs Railway. If you’re sick of managed houses and chain pubs selling the same types of beer, then this place is for you. The pub is part of the station platform, with steam and diesel trains passing through at the weekend. The platform is also part of the bar, with a number of tables set out for you to enjoy the nostalgia.
A fantastic and ever changing set of guest ales on pump as well as the best selection outside Manchester City Centre (Think fringe bar) of Belgian and Continental beers.
They also do a bar menu - but I haven’t tried this yet as too busy sampling the beers!
Highly recommended!
