Great Location – First Class

Had a lovely stay at the Park Plaza, got it for a great price through Lastminute.

We arrived earlier than the check in time, however the receptionist said our room was ready and let us check in anyway, the room was really nice with a great city view, we also had a room upgrade thrown in with 2 bottles of wine, chocolates and mineral water plus fluffy dressing gowns and slippers – first class.

Definitely check in again

The Park Plaza gets a 2* for convenience. The location is great being just outside the train station and in city centre. The cleanliness isn’t what you’d expect from a hotel. The staff are friendly and courteous. The bar on the ground floor is compact and quite expensive. £9 for a glass of wine that wasn’t that great was not a welcome surprise. If staying I suggest upgrading to executive rooms as on corners of building and only one adjoining room. Higher rooms have better views.

Well if this is supposed to be a 4 Star hotel I’m pleased I didn't pick a 2 star

The reception is like a throw back from the early 80's complete with disco dancing championship flashing walls. The room we had was a reasonable standard except that we had to ask for the quilt to be changed as it had stains on it, the scorch marks and dirty stains on the carpet didn't do the room justice along with the broken plug socket.

The public areas are even worse in the dinning room the floors are scattered with the previous dinners food which is wiped directly from the table to the floor by the serving staff, (this I personally witnessed) but whatever you do don't look down the side of the stained seat cushions as there are the remains of the past two years dinners food down there.

All in all apart from the location which is ideal for the city centre I would shop around for somewhere cleaner and more welcoming.

My favourite place to stay in Leeds when it's too late to get home or when I have a flight next morning. First of all, the staff is amazing! They are so helpful, friendly, smiling and very professional. Whenever you are there you should try Chino Latino restaurant - the best food I have ever had in my life!
My second favourite part is breakfast! Wide range of fruit, dry fruit, jams, pastries, hot items, juices.. Maybe the hotel does have the stains on the carpets in the rooms and in the hall ways, but it doesn't really matter for me since the bed I am sleeping in is always comfortable.

It hasn't changed much since Hull's review and I can only emphasize what he wrote. I keep coming back here because it's so conveniently located and some rooms offer a marvelous view over the city - that's what it gets the 3 stars for. However the overall cleanliness still leaves a lot to be desired. And now with colder days coming up I was freezing a lot as the heating will only work when you are in with the key card plugged in. The receptionist kindly gave me a second one for that purpose but unfortunately the room mate took it. Also the walls don't shield much of the noise from other rooms giving me an idea what all these young couples do staying here over the weekend. The breakfast is typical english style, with just a little more choice of buns and jelly it could make extra points for continentals. What a shame they don't open the curtains even on a bright morning but I guess that would only uncover more surprises with lack of cleaning.

Tip: Book breakfast on check-in and you get a discount compared to doing so upon reservation or paying in the restaurant.

The Park Plaza isn't a bad hotel. It's location makes it really convenient for visitors - you see it the moment you leave the train station. The bar area downstairs is quite stylish and the rooms are on-par with what you would expect from a 4 star.

I stayed here with my girlfriend some years ago before we moved to Leeds, so it may have changed since, but the service was good and the rooms were clean.

Recommended staying if you're here on business of leisure.

Great location, right by the train station and near lots of bars, restaurants and shops. We arrived around 12.30pm and couldn’t check in until 2pm which was a pain but the desk staff where very helpful and stored our bags for us. The man who seemed to be in charge of check in was really lovely - very personable.

Rooms were very nice - frosted glass bathroom door is a bit see-through and is amusing if you are sharing with a friend and not your partner but all very nicely decorated and fitted out. We did have a leaking shower and a leaking sink and the air con was on the blink but to be honest we weren’t there long enough for it to be a major problem.

Breakfast is buffet style in the restaurant as there is a wide choice of hot and cold items. There was a long wait at one point for bacon, eggs, hash browns etc which was annoying!

For the price (we paid £83 for one night for two people) it’s a great location, stylish and with great staff.

Very nice hotel located in Leeds city centre next to the train station. It is very modern and stylish. The staff overall were very nice. My only complaint was the staff in the hotels restaurant who made us wait and hour for our booked take and then we waited another 45 mins to be served our first course when we finally got our table. This being said the food was very nice. We had a suit which is very spacious and well decorated. The bathroom is nice and the view of leeds was brilliant from out corner room. The car park however is quite a walk away, especially with bags and also costs about £10.

Stayed here for one night last weekend, pleasantly surprised with the location and facilities made available to me. Had a room on the 11th floor, to which i had a stunning view over the city. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The internal hotel bar was also pleasantly reasonable and the breakfast was delicious and to be recommended. The room itself was a couple of steps up from basic and included a king size bed, ensuite, tea making facilities, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, mini bar, tv, internet access, music playlist system. All in all i’d thorughally recommend staying here if ever staying in the amazing city of super leeds.
