So sorry to hear your visit wasn’t up to your standards. We do have 3 lagers on draught and 2 ales and a selection of bottled beers. We are going to add San Miguel on draught – hopefully that’s an improvement for you. We don’t have a back garden but we do have a covered patio area which I think you must be referring to? Sadly outdoor heaters are a neccessity in this country :( but I’d love to hear any comments you have on where we could improve. Please pop in and your next pint is on us.
Best

This place is great to visit with friends to have fun. It has good range of cocktails which are really good. The food is not so commendable and is the only reason that pulls me away from this place.

A Greene King gastro pub, could there be a worse bar? I actually kind of like their wooden tables and their large carbon skidmark of a heated back garden, but unless they let me BYOB then there is nothing worth drinking on them or in it!
Probably not too bad if you like cocktails or wine to be fair, but nothing here for me. First time I have drunk Becks in years!

wow. I feel really mean now. I’m an ale drinker and I just really don’t like Greene King beers and I think that a pub is for drinking more than it is for eating. Sorry if I was a bit harsh!
Ahhhh, back to the comfort of 5 years ago...
This pub was my local when i lived just up Abbey Road and I possibly spent more time there than in my house. I was elated to see when i visited he other night that not much has changed. Well-heeled locals mix in the dining room, at the wooden rustic tables in the front bar, or outside on long picnic tables under braziers.
There was a dodgy remodelling a few years back - gone were the blackboards of wine lists and cheery gastro-pub vibe, replaced with a dark, velvety bordello decor.
Thank goodness the folly didn't last long and now it's back to it's comforting, friendly self.

The Salt House... my first ever London pub experience, on the corner of the first road I stayed on. Spoilt little thing, thinking St John's Wood was an average London experience, thinking The Salt House an average London pub. Sipping my pint, struggling with jet lag, listening to the odd sound of the locals who spoke with the accent I learned to emulate from Mary Poppins, yes this was London!
Flash forward ten years (dear lord, it hurts to say that!) and I found myself back in the Salt House, with the realisation that it is a cracking pub in a damned nice area.
Great outdoor area, with heaters for the winter, lovely brass fronted bar, quirky staff, and one hell of a menu. Now to work out how to go back in time and live there forever!

The Salt House is probably one of the best pubs in a walkable distance from my house. It’s a gastro pub with an outdoor space with shroom heaters, a few board games to while away a Sunday afternoon and a few people have told me the food is pretty decent though I haven’t yet tried it.
It’s not the cheapest which is also expected given the area (midway down Abbey Road), but has a very comfortable vibe about it and the staff are happy to have a chat and help you out with your order. I’m planning to head down for a roast one day soon so will have to update my review then. But from what I’ve seen, it’s a pretty good bet for a cold pint in a friendly but tame spot.

A great local pub with very friendly staff, excellent music and really great food and drink. Nice relaxed shabby chic decor, decent choice of music too.
There’s a smarter restaurant or you can eat in the pub - plenty of outside seating for the chokers too!

really good atmosphere with a mix of crowds. Cocktails are good. Restaurant area is a bit fancy but the atmosphere in the pub area is more chilled and fun. Fish n chips is yummy - not cheap but good value. Outdoor seating in summer this is always busy so turn up early.
