brasserie at the bull

Really good food and service at the Brasserie. Me and my future wife went with two friends and three course meal wine and beers and it was all fantastic and at a very reasonable price. Especially enjoyed the bacon and chicken terrine

I had lunch today at Brasserie at The Bull with my mother in law.
I ordered the fillet steak sandwich with chips and it was delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked and chips were more like roast potatoes.

My other half had the Bull burger which he said was one of the nicest burgers he’s ever eaten.

The mother in law had the carbonara. I had a little taste and again it was really nice.

For dessert I had the Lemon Tart and it is one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. Price was really good and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend eating here.

I had a meal at the Brasserie on Saturday and was absolutely delighted. Myself and a friend had the set early bird menu which was great value for money. It was a 3 course meal, plus 1/2 bottle of wine for £17.95 each. The food was to a very high standard and the staff were very nice and pleasant. We will definitely be returning again.

I was ejected from this venue tonigt the reasen our main course was outstanding the food well cooked and really tastey. However our starters were missing the rest of our party of 25 had theres and 5 were missing i dared to question where ours were and when 5 mins after everone had finished theres they were all cold i questioned the owner whe also was our waiter about the starters. I was called a Fat Bas**rd asked to leave and physically thown out by the bouncer who then threatened my whith violance if i said anything. This was infornt of my 13 yr old daughter my son and wife. So if you dont complaine this is good food but if you want to experience verble and physical abuse this is the place for you. AVOID AT ALL COST!‎

Totally agree that this is not what I have come to expect from a Halifax bar/restaurant. A friend from work had told me all about it and I didn’t really believe that it was nice.

We tried it on a night out and I was very pleasantly surprised. The bar downstairs is really classy - big leather booths and lots of wood. Really extensive menu of wines and beers and whiskies.

We had dinner upstairs and the decor was even nicer and much more decadent than downstairs. Our food was really good - I had tuna to start and it was cooked perfectly, just pink in the middle. I had pasta for main - very spicy and cooked to my taste with bit of bite still there. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food.

The staff were excellent - main chap was welcoming and friendly and all staff seemed well trained and attentive.

I really hope this place takes off and does well - my experience of Halifax nightlife is that it is crying out for a smart bar/restaurant.

Stylish bar/restaurant in the centre of Halifax which has recently opened.
A very busy place, if you want to eat in the restaurant on a weekend make sure you make a reservation and dress up, it’s not your standard Halifax bar!
A very decadent and classy interior which makes you think you’re in one of the big city bars and not in Halifax town centre.
The food is fabulous though portions aren’t that generous, so make sure you order enough. The chunky chips are well worth ordering but you don’t get many.
The cocktail menu is yet to be sampled by myself but I think this may change next time I’m out for the night in the town.
Pricewise it is quite high but the place is worth it, the bar is far nicer than anywhere else in Halifax and I’ll definitely be visiting again.
