Western Baths Club

the western baths glasgow is an oasis of calm & tranquility in the west end - top corner of byres road/gt western road
this beautiful victorian establishment was founded in 1876 and there is usually a waiting list to join - members only
the pool has the traditional shallow/deep ends with a springboard & diving dale - with trapeze rings suspended above - much fun to be had
in addition to the pool the extensive facilities include a huge turkish steam room, billiard room, dance studio (facilities available to non-members) gym, creche - where the westendy ladies can deposit their little gems for an hour or so, & a polo club
there is also a members bar and reciprocal membership with other local clubs for tennis/squash, cricket, bowls etc
beautiful victorian tiling & stained glass throughout the original parts of the building
