Review of Beau Nash Tavern from 9 June 2011

Aptly named after Richard 'Beau' Nash, the self appointed Master of Ceremonies for Tunbridge Wells in the 18th Century. Nash provided entertainments for visitors and helped Tunbridge Wells gain it's fame as a fashionable resort for the rich noblemen.

The Beau Nash lives up to its name as a highly wonderful, entertaining pub that I like to pretend is my local, even though I have to drag people through town and out the other side to get there.

There is a wonderful, recently renovated beer garden, a variety of ales on tap and live music every Saturday. Set back from the main road down a small alleyway, look for the signpost, it is a gloriously welcoming pub for nobles and vagabonds alike.

A great local close to town with a lovely beer garden. Harveys on tap with Youngs/Wells seemingly replacing London Pride (boo!). All ages are there. A happy place.

Cute little local, tucked away on Mount Ephraim. Look for the sign from the main street, as the pub is set behind it. Bit of a gem for lazy summer evenings drinking outside since they re-did their garden area in recent years, and not many places in Tunbridge Wells have evening summer sun because of the hills. Also there are heaters, so good for smokers. The Pub quiz on a Tuesday evening includes free buffet food, and there is good value cheap pub grub on offer at other times.
If you like your pubs local and friendly then this is the place for you.
