Well, I don’t usually write reviews in situ. This time however, it has to be done.
This place should deserve six stars. Not only have the new owners turned the place around, they have also managed to turn Henley around. I have happily ( and I never thought that I would say this) forsaken my beloved Rowbarge and taken root here. The Rowbarge that gave me succour through the dark days of my life. The Rowbarge that I put up with through numerous changes of manager.
Sandra and Mark have introduced the élan that this superbly placed pub has been crying out for. Crying out for years.
The service is second to none. The environment is second to none. The atmosphere is second to none. The food ……..
Crikey. The food. A delightful sea-food pot au feu. The most tender chicken with chorizo that you could imagine.
The fact that this former arm-pit of a pub is filling up with regulars so fast in a small unforgetting town like Henley is testament in itself.
In short. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
